Leanne is an Accredited Practising Dietitian with 25 years’ experience in combined clinical, community and private practice.

As Chief Executive Officer of Nutrition Australia ACT, Leanne spearheads various public health nutrition programs with a strong focus on child nutrition.

Leanne believes in strength through collaboration and is Chair of Federation of Canteens in Schools. As an Honorary Professional Associate of the University of Canberra, Leanne regularly collaborates with research and student supervision within the Discipline of Nutrition and Dietetics.

Kirsty Grierson

Kirsty Grierson is an experienced community development professional with a robust background in program design, delivery, and evaluation, particularly in the arts, health promotion She is an experienced community development practitioner and whose work integrates creative methodologies with social impact, particularly in the fields of health promotion, youth engagement, and intergenerational community building. With over 20 years of experience across diverse community sectors, she has developed a unique approach to addressing complex social issues, with a focus on participatory and creative processes that engage diverse stakeholders, including children, young people, and marginalised populations. Her training in community development, alongside her extensive practical experience, informs her work, which is marked by a commitment to evidence-based practices and program evaluation. She combines her extensive knowledge with creative, arts-based approaches, making her a unique and highly effective leader in her field. Kirsty is currently the Executive Officer of School Food Matters in Tasmania.


Amanda Ferguson

Amanda is a public health nutritionist with more than 17 years’ experience supporting schools to build healthy, sustainable food services. She brings extensive expertise in program planning and management, training design and delivery, resource development, and on-the-ground implementation.

Amanda is deeply committed to ensuring equitable access to nutritious food for all children and believes that genuine collaboration and strong partnerships are essential to achieving lasting, meaningful change.

She is the Immediate past Chairperson of FOCIS.

Foodcore is a not for profit charity that advocates for healthy food environments in schools, community, sport, health services, workplaces and early years settings.

Based in Western Australia Foodcore has over 30 years’ experience in supporting food services to operate healthy, sustainable food businesses by offering training, resources, and advocacy for canteen staff and volunteers.


Cara Cook

Cara is an Accredited Practising Dietitian with a culinary background as a trained chef. With previous experience as a canteen manager, Cara has a comprehensive understanding of the challenges involved in canteen operations.

A passionate advocate for the role of food in education, Cara adopts a collaborative and team-oriented approach to ensure that school food not only meets nutritional standards but also supports health education. Cara is dedicated to working closely with schools, staff, and the community to promote student health and well-being.

Skye’s work values equity, empowerment, collaboration and evidence-based practice, to ensure every program is tailored to meet the needs of the communities and participants she works with.

Foodbank WA is a not-for-profit organisation with the purpose to feed, educate and advocate for Western Australians in need.

We feed people facing food insecurity through our six branches, Mobile Foodbank, charity partners and School Breakfast Program. We educate people about healthy eating through nom!, our nutrition education and cooking programs and we advocate for those facing food stress.
